Founded in 1980, LSC has remained true to its original principles and has resisted the temptation to move its manufacturing operations offshore. An impressive achievement, as the majority of LSC’s competitors have been bought out by international companies or have outsourced their manufacturing into South East Asia. By keeping manufacturing in Australia, LSC can ensure that its product quality is never compromised.
Forty successful years in business is a formidable record for any company. For Gary Pritchard (founder and Managing Director) it has been an overwhelmingly rewarding experience, accumulating a wealth of industry insight and business acumen, whilst gaining the respect of industry professionals.
“I originally started designing and building products to satisfy my own interest in musical equipment and electronics,” said Gary. “They began to attract industry interest – a business was born and the rest is history.” As an electronics engineer, Gary still leads the research and development team; not only writing the odd line of code or two but also keeping his finger on the pulse by promoting the brand globally.
Highlights and achievements include receiving a PLASA Innovation Award for the Mantra Lite, an Australian Design Award and a Sydney Powerhouse Museum Award for the innovative design of the Axiom range of lighting consoles.
LSC’s products are installed in some of the world’s largest opera houses, theatres and television studios and the company has been the major supplier of film dimming equipment worldwide for the past 15 years. Recent large-scale installations in several Middle Eastern theme parks have cemented LSC’s reputation for providing proven performance and quality at a competitive price.
The team at LSC has a wealth of industry experience, both within Australia and internationally. The sales team members are all ex-LSC customers, proving the company is not only designing and making the right products but also attracting the right personnel to sell its catalogue of industry-best products.
